Craig Barbarin Jr, Owner and head chef of Port City Preps, was born in New Orleans Louisiana one of the food capitals of the south. He spent 12 years of his life in New Orleans before relocating to Mobile Alabama. Craig was formally trained by his father, who now has 38 years experience in the culinary field. The Barbarin Family has owned Lafayette's Restaurant located in the holiday inn in downtown mobile for 11 years now. They have catered everything from office luncheons, to large weddings, to Mardi Gras Balls with 1000 or more guest. Those 11 years, and a mentor that truly cares has given our chef a lifetime of experience. Port City Preps has been catering events solo for 4 years now. We have a very well rounded chef, that isn't tied to any one menu or one cooking style. We have formal 400 plus weddings under our belt, as well as back yard slow smoked Bar B Q's.
